A HANDBOOK FOR TODAY'S SIX SIGMA PRACTITIONERS

The recession has upset a record period of global growth and expansion, forcing entire industries to rethink their business model. Focusing on core businesses to ensure continued market share and profitability, many organizations will apply structured Six Sigma efforts directed at key cost, quality and service objectives in order to maximize value and reduce cost.

To provide a reliable guide to today's progressively stronger Six Sigma management strategies THE SIX SIGMA HANDBOOK, Third Edition (McGraw-Hill; October 2009; Hardcover: $89.95) by Thomas Pyzdek and Paul Keller is completely revised to emphasize project objectives, rather than to simply present a collection of tools and techniques.

Written for executive level management as well as operational level practitioners, who will value the detailed deployment plans and structured approach to tools and methods, the book covers the management systems and statistical tools that are the foundation of Six Sigma. The authors clearly define the management responsibilities and actions necessary for successful deployment; and fully incorporate Lean, Problem Solving and Statistical techniques within the Six Sigma methodology.

The book includes updated and expanded problem-solving examples using Excel and Minitab; it explains how to organize for Six Sigma, how to use customer requirements to drive strategy and operations, how to carry out successful project management, and more. Plus, it illustrates how to:
• Dramatically improve products and processes using DMAIC and DMADV
• Use Design for Six Sigma to create innovative products and processes
• Avoid common pitfalls during implementation, and more.

The Six Sigma Handbook, Third Edition also provides valuable, time-saving guidance for:
• Achieving a critical level of technical proficiency
• Selecting the right personnel to train
• Developing effective leadership
• Building the best teams
