NEW EDITION OF HACKING EXPOSED NOW AVAILABLE

The 10th Anniversary of "the Bible" for IT Security Professionals

The phrase "information security" has expanded significantly in scope over the last decade. New hacker tools, techniques, scripts, and automated hacking malware hit the world with ever increasing ferocity. In order to be a successful defender and practitioner of security, one must be able to think like a creative attacker to stand up to the daunting task of taking on a growing cybercriminal community.

In HACKING EXPOSED: Network Security Secrets & Solutions, 6th Edition (McGraw-Hill; February 2009; Softcover: $49.99) Stuart McClure, Joel Scambray, and George Kurtz rejoin forces, sharing new experiences and wisdom gained during the ten years since they wrote the first edition. The book applies the authors' computer security methodologies, technical rigor, and "from-the-trenches" experience to make computer technology usage and deployments more secure for businesses and consumers.

This edition includes brand-new material, such as:
• New "Hacking Hardware" chapter, covering physical locks and access cards, RFID, laptop security technologies, USB U3, Bluetooth, firmware, and many others.
• New Windows hacks, including Terminal Services, Kerberos sniffing, man-in-the-middle attacks, Metasploit, device driver exploits, new password cracking tools, etc.
• New UNIX hacks, including THC Hydra, Solaris input validation attacks, dangling pointer attacks, DNS cache poisoning, UNIX Trojans, kernel rootkits, and more.
• Coverage of new wireless hacks.
• New network device hacks, including new Cisco vulnerabilities.
• Coverage of new VPN and VoIP hacks, including using Google to hack VPN configurations, hacking IPsec VPN servers, etc.
• New footprinting, scanning, and enumeration techniques that can go undetected.
• Brand-new case studies covering new and timely techniques that real-world hackers use to get into systems and stay there-anonymously.
• Fully updated chapters on hacking the internet user, web hacking, and securing code.
